Quinault (which is called Kʷínaył by its speakers) is a language that was spoken by the Quinault people. These people lived on the Olympic Peninsula in the state of Washington, United States.
Quinault is part of a larger group of languages called the Salishan family. More specifically, it belongs to the Tsamosan branch of the Coast Salish family. Sadly, very few people speak Quinault today. In 2007, only about half a dozen people knew some words from the language. This means it is nearly extinct, and efforts are often made to help keep such languages alive.
