Quincy is a small place in the state of Missouri, United States. It is located in the northwestern part of Hickory County. Quincy is an unincorporated community. This means it does not have its own local government, like a city or town. Instead, it is governed by the county.
You can find Quincy along Route 83, just north of U.S. Route 54. There is a post office and a few homes in Quincy.
Quincy was officially mapped out, or platted, in 1848. It was most likely named after John Quincy Adams, who was a U.S. President. A U.S. President is the leader of the country. The post office in Quincy has been open since 1850. It used to serve the central part of Montgomery Township, while another post office in Bledsoe served the southern part.
In 1995, the Quincy Public Hall was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This is a special list of buildings, sites, and objects that are important in American history.
