Quincy Lee Taylor, born on July 18, 1963, is an American former professional boxer. He competed in boxing from 1986 to 2001. Quincy Taylor was a WBC middleweight champion from 1995 to 1996.

Quincy Taylor's Boxing Career
Quincy Taylor started his professional boxing career in 1986. He was a southpaw, which means he fought with his right hand and foot forward. This is the opposite of most boxers.
In 1987, Quincy Taylor helped train the famous boxer Sugar Ray Leonard. He was a sparring partner for Leonard, helping him get ready for a big fight against Marvin Hagler. Sugar Ray Leonard even mentioned Quincy Taylor in his biography, thanking him for his help.
Becoming a Champion
In 1995, Quincy Taylor got a chance to fight for the WBC middleweight title. He faced the champion, Julian Jackson. Quincy Taylor won the fight by TKO (Technical Knockout). This meant he became the new WBC middleweight champion!
However, he lost his title in his very next fight. He had to defend his championship against Keith Holmes. Quincy Taylor lost this match.
Life After Boxing
After losing his title, Quincy Taylor took some breaks from boxing. He had a few more fights in 1998 and 2001. After his last fight in 2001, he decided to retire from professional boxing.
Today, Quincy Taylor helps young boxers. He coaches amateur boxers at the Boys and Girls Club. He even trains alongside them, sharing his experience and knowledge.
