Ronald "RJ" Cyler II (born on March 21, 1995) is an American actor. He is known for his roles in popular movies like Me and Earl and the Dying Girl (2015) and Power Rangers (2017). He also starred in the TV shows I'm Dying Up Here (2017–2018) and Scream: Resurrection (2019). RJ Cyler has shown his talent in many different types of stories.

Early Life and Family Moves
RJ Cyler grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. He is the youngest of three children. His mother, Katina, worked as a cook, and his father, Ronald Cyler, was a truck driver. In 2013, his parents made a big decision. They sold their belongings and moved the family from Florida to California. This was a brave step to help RJ follow his acting dreams. For a short time, the family was even without a home. But soon after, RJ got his first big role in Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. He finished high school in California.
RJ Cyler's Acting Journey
RJ Cyler started his acting career in 2013 with a short film called Second Chances. His big break came in 2015 when he starred in Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. This movie was based on a popular book. It first showed at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2015. Soon after, a company called Fox Searchlight Pictures bought the rights to share the film. It was released to audiences in June 2015.
Becoming a Power Ranger
In 2016, RJ Cyler appeared in the HBO TV series Vice Principals. A year later, he took on a very exciting role. He played Billy Cranston, the autistic Blue Ranger, in the 2017 Power Rangers movie. This film was a new version of the classic superhero story.
More TV and Movie Roles
From 2017 to 2018, RJ was part of the cast of I'm Dying Up Here. This was a drama series on Showtime, produced by famous actor Jim Carrey. In 2018, he also starred in the drama film White Boy Rick. This movie was about a real person named Richard Wershe Jr..
On September 13, 2017, it was announced that RJ would join the third season of the TV series Scream. He played the main character, Deion Elliot. This season started airing on July 8, 2019. In 2018, RJ also played Dan in the Netflix movie Sierra Burgess Is a Loser. Later that year, he had a recurring role in the second season of CW's Black Lightning. In January 2019, he was also cast in the horror series Swamp Thing.
More recently, RJ Cyler has continued to act in exciting projects. He appeared in the 2021 film The Harder They Fall and the 2022 movie Emergency. From 2022 to 2024, he was a main character named Lamont in the TV series Rap Sh!t.
