Rabé de las Calzadas is a small town and a municipality in Spain. It is located in the province of Burgos, which is part of the Castile and León region. In 2018, about 208 people lived there. The town's motto, Un suspiro en el camino, means "A sigh on the way".

History of Rabé de las Calzadas
Rabé de las Calzadas has a long and interesting history. The town's name might come from Roman times. This is because many important Roman roads used to pass through this area.
Royal Gifts and Ownership Changes
On February 20, 1085, King Alfonso VI gave the village of Rabé de las Calzadas as a gift. He gave it to the Hospital of the Emperor, which was located in the city of Burgos. Later, in 1128, King Alfonso VII also gave the hospital and all its properties to the Bishops and Archbishops of Burgos. From that time on, these religious leaders owned the town.
