Race Point is a special place located at the southern tip of Weddell Island in the Falkland Islands. It sits on the northern side of the Smylie Channel. This point is found at 51°59′22″S 61°00′00″W / 51.98944°S 61.00000°W / -51.98944; -61.00000.
Where is Race Point Located?
Race Point is quite a distance from other landmarks. It is about 26.7 kilometers (16.6 miles) south-southwest of Swan Point. It's also very close to Dyke Island, just 3.5 kilometers (2.2 miles) to its west-northwest.
Race Point is also near West Island, which is 1.8 kilometers (1.1 miles) to the north. Another important spot, Orford Hill on West Falkland, is about 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) north-northeast of Race Point.
