Rachel Galinne (born Rachel S. Gluchowicz on February 7, 1949) is a talented Israeli composer. A composer is someone who writes music. She was born in Stockholm, Sweden.

Rachel Galinne's Early Life and Education
Rachel Galinne started her journey in music and learning in Sweden. She went to Uppsala University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974. This means she studied different subjects and got a university degree.
Later, Rachel moved to Israel to focus on music. She studied how to write music, which is called composition, at the Rubin Academy. This academy is part of Tel Aviv University. There, she earned two more degrees: a Bachelor of Music in 1984 and a Master of Music in 1988.
She also had the chance to learn from famous composers. One of them was Witold Lutoslawski in France. She also attended special music courses in Darmstadt, Germany.
Rachel Galinne's Career and Awards
After finishing her studies, Rachel Galinne became a professional composer. Her hard work and talent were recognized with important awards. In 1994, she received the Prime Minister's Prize for Composers. This is a very special award given by the leader of Israel. She also won the ACUM Prize. ACUM is an organization that supports authors, composers, and music publishers in Israel.
