Rafael F. Muñoz (born May 1, 1899 – died July 2, 1972) was a famous Mexican writer. He wrote many stories and novels, especially about the exciting times of the Mexican Revolution. He was also a journalist, which means he reported news for newspapers.

Rafael F. Muñoz: A Life Story

Rafael Muñoz was born in Chihuahua, Mexico, on May 1, 1899. His father was a rich farmer. When Rafael was just 16 years old, he started working as a reporter for a newspaper in Chihuahua. During this time, he met Pancho Villa, a very important leader in the Mexican Revolution. Meeting Villa made Rafael very interested in the revolution.

Because he supported the revolution, Rafael had to leave Mexico in 1917. This happened after Venustiano Carranza became president. Rafael went to the southwestern United States and continued working as a journalist there. In 1920, General Álvaro Obregón took over from Carranza. This allowed Rafael to return to Mexico City to study journalism.

He wrote for several daily newspapers, including El Heraldo, El Gráfico, and El Universal. Later, he even became the director of a newspaper called El Nacional.

Rafael Muñoz became very well-known for his short stories and novels. Many of his works were about the Mexican Revolution. In 1928, he published his first collection of stories, called El feroz cabecilla. His most famous novel, ¡Vámonos con Pancho Villa!, came out in 1931. This book was so popular that it was made into a movie in 1935, directed by Fernando de Fuentes.

Rafael Muñoz passed away in Mexico City on July 2, 1972.
