Ralf Alastair John Little, born on February 8, 1980, is an English actor, writer, and presenter. He also used to play semi-professional football. He is well-known for his roles in TV comedies. These include playing Antony Royle in The Royle Family and Jonny Keogh in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. From 2020 to 2024, he starred as Detective Inspector Neville Parker in the popular show Death in Paradise. He has also narrated several documentary series, like Our Yorkshire Farm.

Early Life and Education
Ralf Little was born in February 1980 in Oldham, England. He went to Bolton School and later lived near Bury. His younger brother, Ross Little, is also an actor. Their parents both work as accountants.
In 1998, Ralf decided to stop his medical studies at the University of Manchester. He chose to focus completely on his acting career instead.
Acting Career Highlights
Ralf Little's big break came when he was cast in the BBC comedy show The Royle Family. He played Antony Royle from 1998 to 2000. He also returned for special Christmas episodes in 2006, 2009, and 2010.
In 2001, he got another main role as Jonny Keogh in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. He was in six series of this show. In 2007, he decided to leave the show because he had a very busy schedule. His character was then written out of the show.
Ralf also appeared in other TV shows early in his career. These included Elidor and Children's Ward. In 1999, he was in the TV film The Flint Street Nativity. He also had a small part in Coronation Street.
In 2001, he played a young George Harrison in a play called Presence. This role earned him a nomination for an Olivier Award. He also hosted a show called The Ralf Little Show on BBC Choice.
His film roles include playing Peter Hook in 24 Hour Party People. He also starred in the film The Waiting Room. In 2008, he became the narrator for the TV series Monkey Life. He narrated over 200 episodes of this show.
In 2011, he co-wrote and starred in the comedy series The Café. In 2013, he made a guest appearance in Death in Paradise. Six years later, in October 2019, he was announced as the new main detective, DI Neville Parker, in the same series. He played this role until 2024.
In May 2020, Ralf teamed up with his Royle Family co-star Ricky Tomlinson. They presented a travel series called Ricky & Ralf's Very Northern Road Trip.
Football Career
Ralf Little is a big fan of Manchester United. He loves football and has played for several semi-professional clubs. He played for teams like Maidstone United and Edgware Town. He also played for Chertsey Town and Stone Dominoes.
He has often played in charity football matches. In 2010, he played for England in a Soccer Aid game. In 2012, he was the captain for the Sealand national football team. He played in matches against the Chagos Islands and Alderney. In 2017, he played in the Game 4 Grenfell match to raise money for charity.
Personal Life
Ralf Little's great-grandfather, Albert Lockley, was a famous Welsh international footballer.
Since 2018, Ralf has been engaged to Lindsey Ferrentino. She is an American playwright and screenwriter.
Ralf is not religious and identifies as a humanist. In 2020, he became a patron of the humanist charity Humanists UK.
