Randolph Woods (born September 23, 1970) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a Point guard during his career.
Randy Woods' College Basketball Journey
Randy Woods was an amazing basketball player during his college years. He played for La Salle University from 1988 to 1992. In just three seasons, he scored a total of 1,811 points. This impressive number placed him fifth on La Salle's all-time scoring list when he finished his college career.
In 1992, Randy was recognized as the MAAC Player of the Year. He also received the Geasey Award, which is given to the best player in the Big 5 (a group of Philadelphia-area college basketball teams). Randy was honored for his achievements by being inducted into the Big 5 Hall of Fame in 1998. Later, in 2003, he was also inducted into the La Salle Hall of Athletes.
Randy Woods' Professional Career
After his successful college career, Randy Woods was chosen by the Los Angeles Clippers in the 1992 NBA draft. He was the 16th player picked overall in the draft, which is a big accomplishment!
Randy played in the NBA for four seasons. He played for both the Los Angeles Clippers and the Denver Nuggets. During his time in the NBA, he averaged 2.4 points per game. After his NBA career, Randy continued to play professional basketball for several other teams until 1999. These teams included the Quad City Thunder, Oklahoma City Cavalry, Sioux Falls Skyforce, Yakima Sun Kings, Caja San Fernando in Spain, and Papagou in Greece.
