Journey of the Rapid River

Where Does It Start?

The Rapid River begins its adventure at Seymour Lake. This starting point is quite high up, at about 410 meters (or 1,345 feet) above sea level. Imagine starting your journey from a high point and flowing downhill!

Its Path to the Mississagi River

From Seymour Lake, the Rapid River flows west. As it travels, another smaller river, called the Little Rapid River, joins it. This happens when the river is at about 408 meters (1,339 feet) high.

The river continues its journey, passing over some exciting rapids and even a waterfall! Finally, the Rapid River empties into the larger Mississagi River. This meeting point is at a lower elevation, around 314 meters (or 1,030 feet) above sea level.

A Road Along the River

Did you know there's a road that follows most of the Rapid River? This road starts near Highway 129, just north of where the Rapid River joins the Mississagi River. It runs all the way up to Seymour Lake, letting people explore the area alongside the river.
