Rasar State Park is a great place to visit in Washington. It's a public park found on the north side of the Skagit River. This park is about 8 miles west of a town called Concrete. It's located in Skagit County.

The park covers 180 acres of land. It also has 4,000 feet of shoreline along the river. The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission takes care of the park.

How Rasar State Park Started

Rasar State Park has an interesting story. It began in 1984 with a generous gift. Daniel Rasar donated 128 acres of land for the park. This kind act helped create a new public space.

Park Growth and Development

More land was added to the park in 1990. Another 40 acres were acquired north of Cape Horn Road. This made the park even bigger. In 1991, money was approved to build facilities. Construction happened from 1993 to 1997. Workers used materials found right in the local area.

When Rasar State Park Opened

The park officially opened on July 12, 1997. It was named after Peter Rasar. He was the first known member of the Rasar family to move to that area.
