Ravanna is a small community in Mercer County, Missouri, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is an area identified by the U.S. Census Bureau for collecting statistics. It is not an officially incorporated city or town.
Ravanna is located about 8 miles (13 km) northeast of Princeton along U.S. Route 136. In 2020, the population of Ravanna was 60 people. This was a decrease from 98 people in 2010.

Ravanna's Early Days
The community of Ravanna was first planned out in 1857. For a short time, it was also known by the name "Sonoma."
A post office was opened in 1855 under the name "Sonoma." In 1858, its name was changed to Ravanna. The post office served the community for many years before closing in 1975. The name "Ravanna" likely came from Ravenna, Ohio, another place in the United States.
Education in Ravanna
Students in Ravanna attend different school districts depending on where they live. The northern part of the community, including the main area of Ravanna, is part of the North Mercer School District. Other parts of Ravanna are in the Princeton R-5 School District.
Ravanna's Former School
Ravanna used to have its own school district, called the Ravanna R-IV School District. However, this school closed in 1977. It had to close because of financial problems. The mascot for Ravanna's school was the Ranger.
