Raven Rock is a small, quiet community in Pleasants County, located in the state of West Virginia. It is an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town would.
History
Raven Rock got its name in a very interesting way! The community was named after a raven's nest that was seen high up on a rock. This rock was located near where the first settlers built their homes. A post office opened in Raven Rock in 1878. This office helped people send and receive mail for many years. It continued to serve the community until it closed in 1968.
