Ray Charles Chadwick (born November 17, 1962) is an American former professional baseball player. He played for the California Angels in Major League Baseball (MLB) for one season. After his playing career, Ray became a successful baseball coach.

Ray Chadwick's Early Life and Baseball Start
Ray Chadwick grew up in Durham, North Carolina. He went to Durham High School. Later, he attended Winston-Salem State University. While there, he played college football for the Rams team.
During the off-season from football, Ray played semi-professional baseball. A scout from the California Angels noticed his talent. This led to Ray signing a contract to play professional baseball.
Overcoming Challenges: Ray's Comeback
In February 1989, Ray was in a serious car accident. He was badly hurt, breaking bones in his neck, ribs, and arm. Doctors thought he might not be able to pitch again that year.
However, Ray worked incredibly hard to recover. By July 1989, just a few months later, he was back on the field. He pitched again in the minor leagues, showing amazing determination.
Ray Chadwick's Coaching Career
After he stopped playing baseball professionally, Ray started coaching. From 1998 to 2000, he was the pitching coach for the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.
Since 2003, Ray has lived in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. He coaches the Thompson Rivers University baseball team. He has led his team to win the Canadian College Baseball Conference Championship twice. They won in 2005 and again in 2007.
During the summer months, Ray also coaches the Kamloops Sun Devils baseball team. This team is for junior players, usually aged 19 to 21.
Ray Chadwick's Family Life
Ray Chadwick is the father of a well-known professional soccer player. His daughter is Sydney Leroux, who has played for the United States women's national soccer team.
