Raymond is a small community, also called an unincorporated hamlet, in Sheridan County, Montana, United States. It's located north of a town called Plentywood. Raymond is known for its salmon and is only about nine miles away from the Canada–US border.

The Story of Raymond: How It Got Its Name

Raymond has an interesting history! It started with a post office that opened in 1914, but it's closed now. The community was first named Riba, after a lumber merchant named Adolph Riba. But in 1915, the name changed to Raymond. This was to honor Joe Raymond, who was a homesteader. A homesteader was someone who settled on land given by the government to build a new life. Raymond was also built along the Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie Railroad, which helped it grow.

Raymond's Weather: Hot Summers, Cold Winters

The weather in Raymond can change a lot between seasons. It has a type of climate called a humid continental climate. This means that summers are usually warm to hot, and sometimes humid. Winters, on the other hand, are very cold, and can even be severely cold. This kind of climate has big differences in temperature throughout the year.
