Reader Rabbit's Reading Development Library is a fun series of four edutainment games. These games are part of the popular Reader Rabbit world, created by The Learning Company. They were made between 1994 and 1996. The main goal of these games is to help young readers get better at reading, learn new words, write, and recognize words. Each game uses interactive storybooks based on classic fairy tales. The number in the game's title, like "Library 1" or "Library 2," tells you what reading level the game is best for.
How to Play the Games
In each game, you get to pick from two different storybooks. Each story has three versions. The first version is called the "Classic" version. It is told by Sam the narrator. The other two versions tell the story from the point of view of different characters.
You can choose to have the narrator read the whole story. Or, you can read it yourself with helpful guides. The games also have three fun activities. These activities help you learn to read even better. You can read the stories at your own speed. This means you can go as fast or as slow as you like.
