Reason Branch is a small stream, about 3.04 mi (4.89 km) long, located in Union County, North Carolina. It's a "first-order" stream, which means it's one of the smallest types of streams that doesn't have other streams flowing into it before it joins a larger river. This stream is special because it's the only one with the name "Reason Branch" in the entire United States. It eventually flows into the Rocky River.

Reason Branch starts from a pond located about 1 mile west of a town called New Salem, North Carolina. From there, it flows generally towards the northeast. After its journey, it meets and joins the Rocky River. This meeting point is about 3 miles north-northwest of New Salem.
