Rebecca Lim Hui Ling, born on September 26, 1986, is a well-known actress and host from Singapore. She has won many awards for her acting, including Best Actress at the Asian Television Awards. She also won two Best Actress awards and a Best Supporting Actress award at the Star Awards in Singapore. Rebecca has even been recognized internationally, winning Best Performance in a Leading Role at the Seoul International Drama Awards. She is also a popular figure in fashion, appearing on magazine covers and attending major events like Paris Fashion Week. In 2020, she was named Best Actress in Malaysia for her role in the TV series The Bridge.

Early Life and Education
Rebecca Lim was born in Singapore. She is the second of three children in her family. For her early education, she attended CHIJ Saint Nicholas Girls' School and Victoria Junior College. Later, she went to the Singapore Management University. There, she studied for two degrees: one in Accountancy and another in Law.
While she was still a university student, Rebecca took part in the Miss Singapore Universe pageant. She won the "Miss Photogenic" title, which means she was chosen for being very photogenic. Soon after, she was noticed by Mediacorp, a big media company, and started working as a part-time actress. After she finished her university studies, she became a full-time actress.
Rebecca's Acting Journey
Rebecca's first main role in a TV drama was in 2008. It was a show called The Truth. At first, some people thought her Chinese language skills needed improvement.
In 2009, Rebecca starred in Fighting Spiders. She played a character named Susie Woon, and her acting received good reviews. The show was so popular that it had a second season in 2010. For her work in Fighting Spiders, Rebecca won the "Actress of the Year" award at the ELLE Singapore Awards in 2010.
Later in 2010, Rebecca appeared in a Channel 5 law drama called The Pupil. She played a trainee lawyer named Wendy Lim. Her performance in this show earned her the Best Actress in a Leading Role award at the 2010 Asian Television Awards.
In 2012, Rebecca had a big breakthrough in Mandarin dramas with Unriddle 2. She played a psychiatrist in this Channel 8 show. Her strong performance helped her win a "Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes" award at the Star Awards 2012. This was her first time winning in this category.
Rebecca continued to gain recognition. In 2014, she was nominated for both Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at the Star Awards 20. She won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Lisa in The Dream Makers.
In 2015, Rebecca won the Best Actress award at the Star Awards 2015 for her role as Zhang Xueqin in Yes We Can!.
In 2016, Rebecca was part of a marketing campaign for an insurance company. She announced on Instagram that she was "retiring." Many people believed her, and there was a lot of discussion. Later, she explained it was just part of the campaign and she was not actually retiring.
Also in 2016, Rebecca received the Asian Star Award at the Seoul International Drama Awards. This was for her role as Wan Fei Fei in The Journey: Our Homeland, a drama about building a nation.
Rebecca continued to win awards. In 2018, she won the Star Awards for Best Actress for her role in the drama The Lead at the Star Awards 2018. She has consistently been one of the "Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes" for many years.
Personal Life
On November 15, 2021, Rebecca Lim shared exciting news: she was engaged to Matthew Webster. Matthew is of British-Chinese background and works in corporate branding. The couple got married in a beautiful ceremony on November 27, 2022, at The Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore. On September 12, 2023, Rebecca announced that she was expecting her first child. She gave birth to a baby boy on January 30, 2024.
