Romeo Tan (born Tan Romeo on 9 April 1985) is a famous actor from Singapore. He is known as one of the "8 Dukes of Caldecott Hill," which is a special group of popular young actors in Singapore. Romeo became well-known after he placed fourth in a big talent show called Star Search in 2010.

Early Life and Education
Romeo Tan went to Ngee Ann Secondary School. After that, he studied multimedia technology at ITE MacPherson. He then earned a diploma in digital media design from Nanyang Polytechnic.
Romeo's Acting Journey
Romeo Tan started his acting career on TV in 2005. His first show was the fourth season of Heartlanders.
Becoming a Star
In 2010, Romeo joined the tenth season of Star Search, a popular talent competition. He did very well and finished in fourth place. After the show, he was offered a two-year acting contract with MediaCorp, a big media company in Singapore.
In 2012, Romeo got a supporting role in a police TV series called C.L.I.F.. This was a big step for him. He was even nominated for the Best Newcomer Award at the Star Awards 2012, which celebrates the best in Singaporean TV.
Taking on New Roles
Romeo then took on a challenging role in the drama Joys of Life. For the first time, he played a "bad guy" or an antagonist. People really liked his performance, and he became known as a rising star. He also played a charming chef in Don't Stop Believin' and appeared in the popular show It Takes Two.
In 2013, Romeo got a main role in the drama series Sudden. He even sang one of the theme songs for the show!
Continued Success
Romeo continued to act in many popular TV shows. Some of these include Yes We Can! (2014), Good Luck (2015), and The Dream Makers II (2015). For his work in The Dream Makers II, he was nominated for Best Actor at the Star Awards 2016.
In 2016, he won the Best Supporting Actor award at the Star Awards 2017 for his role in The Dream Job. He also won the "Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes" award, which means he was one of the most loved male actors by the public. He has won this award many times, showing how popular he is!
Romeo has acted in many other dramas like Dream Coder (2017), When Duty Calls (2017), Life Less Ordinary (2018), and Say Cheese (2018).
Romeo's Life Outside Acting
In May 2020, Romeo shared that he bought his own apartment in a nice area of Singapore. Before this, he lived with seven family members in a smaller apartment. He even shared a room with his younger brother. Sometimes, he would stay at his actor friend Elvin Ng's house to have a quiet place to practice his lines.
