Rebecca's Club Football Journey

Starting at Watford and Arsenal

Rebecca began her football journey as a young player with Watford. In 2001, she joined the Centre of Excellence at Arsenal. She moved up through the different age groups at Arsenal. By 2006, she joined the senior team. She was mainly the backup goalkeeper for Emma Byrne.

Rebecca made her first appearance in the FA Women's Premier League. In April 2008, she was the goalkeeper when Arsenal won the London Cup Final. They beat Millwall Lionesses 3–1. She had also played in the 2006 final, where Arsenal lost to Charlton Athletic.

Winning Trophies with Arsenal

Rebecca was a substitute player when Arsenal won the FA Women's Cup in 2008 and 2009. She also won an FA Women's Premier League Cup medal in 2007. She was a substitute in that game too.

Loan Spells and Moving to Birmingham

For the 2010–11 season, Rebecca joined Gillingham on a loan. She said she wanted to play more regularly. In December 2011, Rebecca left Arsenal to play for ASJ Soyaux, a French club.

She came back to England in March 2012 for family reasons. She briefly rejoined Arsenal and was on the bench for two Champions League matches. Then, Rebecca signed with Birmingham City. She played a big part when Birmingham beat Chelsea in the 2012 FA Women's Cup Final in a penalty shootout.

Returning to Arsenal and Then Back to Birmingham

Rebecca returned to Arsenal for the first half of 2013. But she left Arsenal for the third time in July 2013. She then went back to Birmingham City.

Joining Chelsea and West Ham

In January 2016, Rebecca announced she was moving from Birmingham to Chelsea. Chelsea was the champion of the Women's Super League at that time. Birmingham said the transfer fee from Chelsea was "an extremely good deal."

Rebecca moved to West Ham United in June 2018. She played in 12 league games and four League Cup games. She was a substitute in the 2018–19 FA Women's Cup final against Manchester City. In June 2019, she left West Ham when her contract ended.

Playing for Tottenham and Back to Chelsea

On July 5, 2019, Rebecca signed with Tottenham Hotspur. She was part of Tottenham's first team to play in the Women’s Super League. In March 2025, she returned to Chelsea on a temporary loan. This was an emergency loan for the rest of the 2024–25 season. On July 7, 2025, her move to Chelsea became permanent. She signed a one-year contract with an option for another year.

International Football Career

Rebecca has played for England at different youth levels. She played for the Under–15, Under–19, and Under–20 teams. She was the main goalkeeper for England's Under–20 World Cup team in 2008.

In 2009, she helped England's Under–19 team win the UEFA European Women's Under-19 Championship. She did not let any goals in during the whole tournament! UEFA even named her one of the top ten "emerging talents" from the competition. In 2016, she was called up to the senior England squad but did not play in the match against Estonia.

Rebecca also qualifies to play for Jamaica because of her family background. She was first called up to the Jamaican national team in June 2021. During that time, Rebecca played her first senior international game. Jamaica won 1–0 against Nigeria. She wears the number 13 jersey for Jamaica.
