Rechelle Margaret Hawkes AM (born on May 30, 1967) is a famous Australian former field hockey player. She was born in Albany, Western Australia. Rechelle was the captain of the Australian Women's Hockey Team, known as the Hockeyroos, for eight years.
She is one of only two Australian women to win three Olympic gold medals in three different Olympic Games. She won gold in Seoul 1988, Atlanta 1996, and Sydney 2000.

Rechelle Hawkes started playing for the national team in 1985. She played in the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, where Australia finished fifth. In 1999, she reached a huge milestone by playing 250 games for her country. This is a lot of games for any athlete!
