Redakai: Conquer the Kairu, often called just Redakai, is an animated TV show. It was made by companies in both Canada and France. The show first aired in Canada on YTV on July 9, 2011. It then came to the United States on Cartoon Network and to France on Canal J and Gulli.
The series was created by Vincent Chalvon Demersay and David Michel. It was a team effort between Spin Master Entertainment from Canada and Marathon Media from France. The animation style of Redakai is often compared to anime, similar to other shows from Marathon like Totally Spies!.

What is Redakai About?
The story follows Ky, a 15-year-old who is learning ancient martial arts. He goes on a big adventure to find something called Kairu. Kairu is a powerful alien energy source.
Ky is joined by his friends, Maya and Boomer. Together, they travel around the world. Their goal is to find the Kairu before their alien enemies do. These enemies are also teenagers from other planets.

Main Characters
The show features a group of heroes called Team Stax. They are on a mission to protect the Kairu.
Team Stax
- Ky Stax - Ky is the leader of Team Stax. He is 15 years old, brave, and sometimes acts without thinking. He is learning the "Art of Kairu" from Master Boaddai. Ky believes his father, Connor, is still alive and wants to find him. His main monster is Metanoid, which uses Plasma power.
- Maya - Maya is the smart and thoughtful member of Team Stax. She has a special ability to sense when Kairu energy is nearby. She can also see visions of the future, but only if she lets them happen naturally. Maya was raised by Master Boaddai and wants to learn about her past. Her main monster is Harrier, known for its Banshee Scream.
- Boomer - Boomer is the strong and funny member of Team Stax. He is very loyal to Ky, who is his childhood best friend. Boomer sometimes struggles to find his place, but his strength and humor are important for the team. His main monster is Froztok, which uses Hail Storm and Freeze Ray attacks.
Friends and Teachers
- Master Boaddai - Boaddai is a wise and powerful Redakai warrior. He trains Ky, Maya, and Boomer. He guides them in their quest to collect Kairu and teaches them how to be Kairu warriors. Boaddai's main enemy is Lokar.
- Connor Stax - Connor is Ky's father and a legendary Kairu warrior. He was guarding a special Kairu Vessel. When Lokar attacked, Connor sent the Vessel to Earth and disappeared. Ky believes his father is still alive, which is later confirmed.
- Mookee - Mookee is the last person from a planet Lokar destroyed. Master Boaddai took him in. Mookee helps the team as a mechanic and cook, though his cooking is not very good! He is a loyal friend to the team.
Villains
The heroes face many enemies who want to use Kairu for bad reasons.
- Lokar - Lokar is the main villain of the Redakai universe. He trained with Master Boaddai but chose to use Kairu energy for his own selfish plans. Lokar wants to collect all the Kairu, which could be very dangerous for Earth and the universe. He has a mysterious connection to Maya.
Team Radikor
This team works for Lokar.
- Zane - Zane used to be Ky's friend but was kicked out of Master Boaddai's training. He then joined Lokar. In Season 2, he briefly became a Kairu Master with shadow powers. His main monster is Bruticon.
- Zair - Zair is a member of Team Radikor. Her main monster is Cyonis, which uses a Lightning Strike attack. She later gained a shadow monster named Grappler.
- Techris - Techris is the oldest and most reliable member of Team Radikor. He sometimes does crazy things, which can mess up Zane and Zair's plans. His main monster is Silver Baxx, known for its Earth Slam attack.
Team Imperiaz
This team is made up of royal siblings who are forced to work for Lokar.
- Princess Diara - Diara is the leader of the Imperiaz E-Teens. She is a bit spoiled but has strong Kairu skills. She and her siblings work for Lokar because he kidnapped their parents. Her monster is Knight Asp.
- Koz - Koz is the oldest Imperiaz sibling and the planner for the team. He is strong and powerful but doesn't really want to fight for Lokar. His monster is Ocelot.
- Teeny - Teeny is the smallest Imperiaz sibling. She is bold and quick, but sometimes acts too fast. Like Koz, she doesn't really want to work for Lokar. Her monster is Warnet.
Team Battacor
This team also works for Lokar.
- Zylus - His favorite monster is Magnox, which uses a Magnetic Tornado attack.
- Rynoh - His main monster is Spykor, known for its Neural Blast attack.
- Bash - His favorite monster is Drudger. Team Battacor was exiled by Lokar after losing a fight to Team Stax.
Team Hiverax
This team replaced Team Battacor in Season 2.
- Vexus - His monster is Fangrax.
- Hexus - His monster is Wrendrax.
- Nexus - His monster is Neurax.
These three monsters (Fangrax, Wrendrax, and Neurax) can combine into one shadow monster called Hydrax. Team Hiverax worked for Lokar but later betrayed him.
Other Characters
Redakai Council
These are important judges and leaders in the Redakai world.
- Atoch - He is a judge for tournaments and represents the Redakai Council.
- Quantus - He also represents the Redakai Council and serves as a tournament judge.
