The mothers of these families were four sisters from the Spaulding family: Edith Clifford, Susan Spaulding, Lavinia Prouty, and Phoebe Plummer. They came from the Dover-Foxcroft area. Many people living in Reed Plantation today, or in the nearby village of Wytopitlock, are descendants of these early settlers.
