Refrigerator (1988–1999) was a very famous American Quarter Horse racehorse. He was known for winning the important Champion of Champions race three times!
Refrigerator was born in 1988. He was a bay colored gelding, which means he was a male horse that could not be used for breeding. His father was a horse named Rare Jet, and his mother was Native Parr. During his racing career, Refrigerator earned over $2 million. He won 22 races in total, and 11 of those were special "stakes" races.
Refrigerator's Racing Career
Refrigerator had an amazing career on the racetrack. In 1990, he won the All American Futurity, which is one of the biggest races for young Quarter Horses. He also won nine "Grade 1" races. These are the highest level of races in horse racing, showing he was one of the best.
His most famous achievement was winning the Champion of Champions race three times. He won it in 1992, 1993, and 1994. This made him a true legend in the world of Quarter Horse racing. Refrigerator was bred by Sonny Vaughn. He passed away in February 1999.
Hall of Fame Horse
Because of his incredible achievements, Refrigerator was honored in a very special way. In the year 2000, he was added to the AQHA Hall of Fame. This is a place where the most important and successful American Quarter Horses are remembered forever. It shows how much he meant to the sport.
