Reginald "Reg" Jirod Jefferson (born September 25, 1968) is a former designated hitter who played professional baseball. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1991 to 1999. His teams included the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Seattle Mariners, and Boston Red Sox.

Reggie Jefferson's Baseball Journey
Reggie Jefferson was born on September 25, 1968. He grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. As a young athlete, Reggie was a star in three different sports. He played baseball, basketball, and football at Lincoln High School.
Playing in Major League Baseball
Reggie started his MLB career in 1991 with the Cincinnati Reds. He then played for the Cleveland Indians until 1993. In 1994, he joined the Seattle Mariners.
His longest time in MLB was with the Boston Red Sox. He played for them from 1995 to 1999. In 1996, Reggie had a great season with the Red Sox. He hit for a .347 batting average. This was one of the best averages in the league that year. Fans even gave him the nickname 'The Miracle'.
Reggie played in 680 games during his nine seasons in MLB. He finished his career with a .300 batting average. He also hit 72 home runs and had 300 RBIs. An RBI means he helped a teammate score a run.
Playing in Japan
After his time in MLB, Reggie also played baseball in Japan. He joined the Seibu Lions for one season in 2000. This was a different experience for him.
Life After Playing Baseball
After his playing career, Reggie Jefferson stayed involved in baseball. He worked as a player agent, helping other baseball players. He also became a coach. In 2005, he was the hitting coach for the Albuquerque Isotopes. In 2006, he coached at the University of South Florida.
