Reginald "Reg" Jirod Jefferson, born on September 25, 1968, is a former professional baseball player. He was a designated hitter and first baseman. Reg played in Major League Baseball from 1991 to 1999. He played for teams like the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Indians, Seattle Mariners, and Boston Red Sox. He also played one season in Japan.

Early Life and High School
Reggie Jefferson grew up in Tallahassee, Florida. He went to Lincoln High School. Reggie was a talented athlete who played three different sports. He earned special recognition in baseball, basketball, and football.
Playing in the Major Leagues
Reggie started his Major League Baseball career in 1991. He played for the Cincinnati Reds. Later, he joined the Cleveland Indians. In the winter of 1993, he was traded from Cleveland to the Seattle Mariners. This trade involved another player, Félix Fermín, and some cash. In return, Cleveland received shortstop Omar Vizquel.
Reggie then joined the Boston Red Sox in 1995. He had a great year with the Red Sox in 1996. He hit for a very high batting average of .347. This was one of the best averages in the league that year. Red Sox fans even gave him the nickname 'The Miracle'.
Reggie played his last Major League Baseball game in 1999. After his time in the MLB, he played one season in Japan. He joined the Seibu Lions in 2000.
