Reginald "Reggie" Yates (born 31 May 1983) is a British writer, director, and television presenter. He is known for acting, presenting TV shows, and being a radio DJ. Over his long career, he has worked on many popular shows for the BBC.
Yates is famous for hosting the first two series of the singing competition The Voice UK with Holly Willoughby. He also presented the game show Prized Apart and the reality show Release the Hounds. Many people also know him as the voice of the main character in the CBeebies cartoon Rastamouse. As an actor, he played Leo Jones in the science-fiction show Doctor Who.
In 2021, Yates wrote and directed his first movie, called Pirates.

Reggie Yates was born in London, England. His parents were both from Ghana, a country in West Africa. His family has an interesting history that connects back to both Ghana and England.
Yates grew up in North London and went to Central Foundation Boys' School in Islington.
Career Journey
Starting on Television
Reggie Yates began his television career when he was only eight years old, with a small part in the show Desmond's. He later appeared on the Disney Club. In 2002, he acted in the popular children's drama Grange Hill.
From 2002 to 2004, he presented a Sunday morning show called Smile. After that, he and his co-host Fearne Cotton moved on to present the famous music chart show Top of the Pops.
