Regina Jacobs (born August 28, 1963) is a former American middle-distance runner from Los Angeles. She had a long and successful career. She won two silver medals at the IAAF World Championships in Athletics. She also won an indoor world championship when she was 39 years old. Her running career ended in 2003 after a rule violation.

Regina Jacobs' Running Career
Regina Jacobs was a top runner for the Stanford Cardinal track and field team. She was an "All-American," which means she was one of the best college athletes in the country. She finished fourth in the 800-meter race at the 1982 NCAA Championships. She also placed sixth in the 1500-meter race in 1985.
After college, Regina represented the United States in three Summer Olympics. She competed in the Olympics starting in 1988 in Seoul, South Korea.
Major Achievements
Regina Jacobs earned silver medals in the 1500-meter race at the World Championships. She took second place in Athens in 1997. She won another silver medal in Sevilla in 1999.
Throughout her career, she won 25 national titles in the United States. On February 1, 2003, Regina set a world record in the indoor 1500-meter race. Her time was 3 minutes and 59.98 seconds. She was the first woman to run this race in under 4 minutes indoors.
Her American record for the indoor 1500m was later broken. On March 2, 2025, Heather MacLean ran the race in 3 minutes and 59.60 seconds.
End of Her Running Career
In her last years of competing, Regina was coached by her husband, Tom Craig. Her career ended in 2003. She retired after being suspended from competing in track and field for a rule violation.
Life After Running
After her running career ended, Regina Jacobs started a new path. She became a real estate agent in the Oakland, California, area. She also went back to school and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. She got her MBA from the University of California, Berkeley. Today, she works for The Grubb Co. Realtors. Her husband is also part of her team there.
