Rene Lavan (born November 5, 1968) is a Cuban-American actor. He is known for his roles in movies and TV shows.
Early Life
Rene Lavan was born in Artemisa, Havana Province, Cuba. When he was 11 years old, in 1980, he moved from Cuba to the United States.
Acting Career
Rene Lavan has acted in many different types of shows and films. In 1996, he was in the movie Azúcar amarga. He also appeared in the TV show One Life to Live.
He has acted in several telenovelas, which are like long TV dramas. Some of these include Morelia (1995) and Enamorada (1999). In 2001, he played the main male role in María Belén.
Rene has also been featured in magazines like People en Español. Later, he appeared in popular TV dramas. These include CSI: Miami (2003) and Las Vegas (2004). He was also in the movie Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (2004).
In 2004, he acted alongside Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis in Christmas with the Kranks. Rene has also helped host big events. These include the "Latin Billboard Music Awards" and the "Latin Grammy's."
He also performed on Broadway in the show Latinologues. He worked with actors like Rick Najera and Eugenio Derbez. Rene has also worked as a producer on different projects. These include music videos and films about Latin culture.
More recently, Rene Lavan was in the movie Guerrilla (2008). He acted with Benicio del Toro in that film. He also starred as Francisco Alonso in the TV show Every Witch Way.
