The Reservation River is a small but important river located in the state of Minnesota, in the United States. It flows through a beautiful part of the country, close to the border with Canada. This river is special because it runs right through the Grand Portage Indian Reservation, which is land belonging to the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.

River's Journey

The Reservation River starts its journey from a place called Swamp Lake. This lake is found on the western side of the Grand Portage Indian Reservation. From there, the river flows south, traveling about 6.9 miles (which is about 11 kilometers).

Flowing to Lake Superior

After its short journey, the Reservation River empties into Lake Superior. Lake Superior is the largest of the Great Lakes and the biggest freshwater lake in the world by surface area! So, even though the Reservation River is small, it plays a part in feeding one of the world's most amazing lakes.

Location in Minnesota

The river is located in the very northeast corner of Minnesota. This area is known for its stunning natural beauty, including forests, lakes, and rivers. The Reservation River is a part of this amazing landscape, contributing to the local ecosystem and water systems.
