Resurrection Fest is a super popular rock music festival held every year in Viveiro, a town in the region of Lugo, Spain. It started in 2006 and usually happens in July or early August. The festival is famous for featuring awesome heavy metal, hardcore punk, and punk rock bands.
Since it began, Resurrection Fest has become one of the biggest music festivals in Spain. This is because it focuses on these specific music styles. In 2013, a record 33,000 people attended, bringing lots of money to the area. By 2015, even more people came – over 54,500! This shows how much the festival has grown.
Over the years, more than 200 bands have played at Resurrection Fest. Some really famous groups include Iron Maiden, Korn, Motörhead, Kiss, Rammstein, Slipknot, Slayer, and Bad Religion.

Festival History
The festival first happened in August 2006. It was originally called Viveiro Summer Fest. Back then, you could get in for free because the local government helped out.
Just two days before the first event, the main band, Sick of It All, had to cancel. One of their members got sick. Even with this problem, the festival was moved to November of the same year and renamed Resurrection Fest. It was a big success!
Today, Resurrection Fest is a four-day event. It became a three-day festival in 2010 and then expanded to four days in 2015. In 2015, a record 54,500 people attended. Most visitors come from all over Spain, but more and more people from countries like Portugal and France are joining the fun too.
