The Resurrection River is a big river found on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska. It starts near Upper Russian Lake in the Kenai Mountains. The river then flows about 22 miles (35 km) and ends in Resurrection Bay, close to the town of Seward.
Part of the river flows through Kenai Fjords National Park. Long ago, people used to look for small bits of gold where the river meets Placer Creek. This was called placer mining.
Fishing Fun
The lower part of the Resurrection River is a great spot for fishing. Many people come here to catch salmon.
Silver Salmon
The river and bay are famous for their silver salmon. You can catch a lot of these fish, especially in August. It's a very busy time for fishing!
Other Salmon Types
You can also find other types of salmon in the river. These include Chinook salmon and Sockeye salmon. While there aren't as many of them, they are still a fun catch for anglers.
