Reut Naggar (born May 2, 1983) is an Israeli who starts new projects and works to make things better for others. She mainly focuses on helping LGBT people and supporting women's rights.

Reut is the person who started and co-owns WDG, which is an online news site for the LGBT community. She also produced a theater show called "Lesbihonest." She is a member of the Tel Aviv Jaffa City Council.

Reut Naggar's Early Life

Naggar was born in Tel Aviv and grew up in Ashdod. She served in the Israeli army from 2001 to 2004. In the army, she worked in logistics, helping to organize supplies.

After her army service, Reut studied Chemistry and Internal Medicine at Bar Ilan University. She also learned about money markets and creative writing. Later, she worked for different advertising companies.

"Lesbihonest" Theater Show

In 2016, Naggar produced a show called "Lesbihonest." She worked with actress and poet Mika Ben Shaul on this project. The show includes funny comedy sketches, songs, and poems. All of these are about women who love women.

The show first started at the LGBT center in Tel Aviv. After that, it toured all over the country. It was performed in cities like Jerusalem, Haifa, and Beersheba. "Lesbihonest" is now regularly shown at Israel's national theater, HaBima.

That same year, "Time Out Tel Aviv" magazine chose Naggar as one of the most important women in the LGBT community.

In 2017, Naggar started a band called "Pashoot." They performed at the Tel Aviv Cinematheque for the tenth anniversary of the Lethal Lesbian Film Festival. Reut Naggar currently lives in Tel Aviv.

Reut Naggar's Public and Political Work

Reut Naggar is an activist who works for LGBT rights, feminism, and gender equality in Israel. She was one of the leaders for the "Women at the Front" campaign in 2016. This campaign aimed to help more women become leaders in the community during Tel Aviv's Pride events. She also helped lead a protest for women's rights in 2018.

Naggar produced the "Golden LGBT" event for older LGBT people. She also organized an LGBT Passover Seder for Israel's LGBT Task Force and the Tel Aviv Municipal LGBT Community Center. Running for City Council

In February 2018, Reut Naggar announced she would run in the elections for the Tel Aviv city council. She ran as part of the Meretz party. In the party elections in May 2018, Naggar was placed seventh on the Meretz list. Later, she moved up to the fifth spot. However, in the city elections in October 2018, the Meretz party won only three seats on the city council.

In July 2018, she helped start the "Pink female Panthers" group. This group began the Israeli LGBT strike that year.

In November 2019, she was chosen to be a member of the Board of Directors for The Aguda – Israel's LGBT Task Force.
