Rhea is a small place in Arkansas, United States. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does.
You say "Rhea" like "ray." It is located in Washington County, Arkansas, north of a town called Lincoln. You can find it near Lincoln Lake, and Weddington Mountain is just to its west.
A Look Back at Rhea's History
Rhea has had a few different names over the years. Some people used to call it "Rhea Mill" or "Rhea's Mill." Others knew it as "Rhea Mills" or "Rheas Mills."
A post office was first opened here in 1867. At that time, it was named "Rheas Mills." The name changed to "Rhea Mills" in 1893. Then, just a year later in 1894, it became "Rhea." The post office served the community for many years before it finally closed in 1963.
The community was named after William H. Rhea. He was an important person in the early days of the area, serving as the first postmaster.
