The Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis is a special area in the middle of Rhineland-Palatinate, which is a state in Germany. You can think of a "Kreis" (pronounced krice) as being similar to a county in other countries. It's a way to organize many towns and villages together. The main city and capital of this district is Simmern.

What is a District?
A district, or Kreis, is an important part of how Germany is organized. It helps manage things like schools, roads, and public services for many smaller towns and villages. The Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis covers a large area, about 990 square kilometers (which is about 382 square miles). In 2013, over 100,000 people lived here.
Towns and Villages in Rhein-Hunsrück
The Rhein-Hunsrück-Kreis has one main town that is "Verband"-free. This means it manages its own affairs without being part of a larger group of villages. That town is Boppard.
Most other towns and villages in the district are grouped into something called Verbandsgemeinden. These are like groups of smaller communities that work together to share services. This helps them be more efficient.
Here are the Verbandsgemeinden and some of the towns and villages within them:
