Working with Money: An Economist

He was part of the Colorado Party (Uruguay), which is a political group in Uruguay. He was chosen to lead the Central Bank of Uruguay two times. The Central Bank is like the main bank for a country. It helps control the money supply and keeps the economy stable.

- He led it again from 1995 to 1996.
Both times, he worked during the time when Julio María Sanguinetti was the president of Uruguay.
