Ricco Barrino's Music Journey

Early Career and First Hits

In 2006, Ricco Barrino heard a song by Eminem. This inspired him to write his own song called "Bubble Gum." It became very popular in his local area. An independent record label named Othaz Records officially released it. The song caught the attention of Jason Geter, who helped start Grand Hustle, and also Atlantic Records.

In the same year, Ricco sang on a song called "Bore Me (Yawn)." This song was on his sister Fantasia Barrino's second album, Fantasia. In 2008, T.I., the head of Grand Hustle, featured Ricco on a song. This song was on T.I.'s very successful album, Paper Trail.

Breaking into the Charts

Ricco Barrino got his first song on a music chart in 2009. This was with the single "Futuristic Love (Elroy)." He sang on this song with a new artist from Grand Hustle, Yung L.A.. The song reached number 55 on the US Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. In 2010, Ricco also appeared on his sister's reality TV show, Fantasia for Real.

Mixtapes and EPs

On March 21, 2014, Ricco released his first extended play (EP). An EP is shorter than an album but longer than a single. It was called From the Club to the Crib. This EP included the song "Drift." The music for "Drift" was made by Keith Mack, a producer for Grand Hustle.

In 2015, Ricco Barrino became even more well-known. He was featured on a song called "California" by rapper Colonel Loud. This song became a big hit on the radio. Many music websites and magazines, like HipHopDX and Complex, talked about it. On June 3, 2016, Ricco released another EP called Vibes. He worked on this EP with his friend Tigo B.
