An independent record label named Othaz Records officially released it. The song caught the attention of Jason Geter, who helped start Grand Hustle, and also Atlantic Records.
In the same year, Ricco sang on a song called "Bore Me (Yawn)." This song was on his sister Fantasia Barrino's second album, Fantasia. In 2008, T.I., the head of Grand Hustle, featured Ricco on a song. This song was on T.I.'s very successful album, Paper Trail.
