Richard James Biggs II (born March 18, 1960 – died May 22, 2004) was an American actor. He was known for his roles on popular TV shows like Days of Our Lives and Babylon 5. Richard Biggs acted in many different types of shows and plays during his career.

Early Life and Education
Richard Biggs was born in Columbus, Ohio. He went to the University of Southern California to study acting. He received a special scholarship, which helped him pay for his studies. Before becoming a full-time actor, he even taught for a short time at a high school in Los Angeles.
When Richard was 13 years old, doctors found out he had problems with his hearing. He was partly deaf in one ear and completely deaf in the other. Because of this, he often used his fame to help raise money for the Aliso Academy. This is a special school in Rancho Santa Margarita, California that helps children who are deaf.
Acting Career
Richard Biggs had a long and successful acting career.
Famous TV Roles
From 1987 to 1994, Richard Biggs played Dr. Marcus Hunter on the TV show Days of Our Lives. This was a very popular role for him.
He then became even more famous for playing Dr. Stephen Franklin on the science fiction series Babylon 5. He was on this show from 1994 to 1998. He even appeared in the last episode of its spin-off show, Crusade.
Other Acting Work
After Babylon 5, Richard Biggs acted in other TV shows like Any Day Now and Strong Medicine. He also had a role on the soap opera Guiding Light. At the time he passed away, he was a regular actor on Strong Medicine.
Richard Biggs also performed in many plays. Some of his stage roles included famous plays like The Tempest, Cymbeline, and The Taming of the Shrew.
His last TV appearance was in an episode of the Nickelodeon show Drake & Josh in 2004. This episode was dedicated to his memory. He won one award during his career, the Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Personal Life
Richard Biggs married Lori Gebers on August 1, 1998. They had two sons together, named Richard James III and Hunter Lee.
Death
Richard Biggs passed away on May 22, 2004, when he was 44 years old. He collapsed at his home in Los Angeles and died at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center. His death was caused by a problem with a major blood vessel in his body.
