Richard Davalos (born November 5, 1930 – died March 8, 2016) was an American actor. He performed in plays, movies, and TV shows for many years.

Early Life and First Roles
Richard Davalos was born in New York City. His family had Spanish and Finnish roots. When he was just six years old, Richard showed his acting talent. He was in a school play of Cinderella. In this play, he took on two fun roles: the talking mirror and the prince!
A Career in Movies and TV
Richard Davalos acted in many famous movies. One of his most well-known roles was in East of Eden (1955). In this movie, he played Aron, the brother of James Dean's character. He also played a character named Blind Dick in the movie Cool Hand Luke (1967).

His older brother, played by Darryl Hickman, joined the Union Army.
He also appeared in two episodes of Perry Mason. These were "The Case of the Hateful Hero" in 1962 and "The Case of the Ice-Cold Hands" in 1964.

Richard Davalos was also a talented stage actor. He won an award in 1956 called the Theatre World Award. He earned this award for his great performances in two plays by Arthur Miller. These plays were A View from the Bridge and A Memory of Two Mondays.

Richard Davalos had two daughters who also became involved in the arts. His daughter Elyssa Davalos is an actress. His other daughter, Dominique Davalos, is a musician. Richard also had a granddaughter, Alexa Davalos, who is an actress. You might know Alexa from the movie The Chronicles of Riddick.
