Rickey Deshun Dudley (born July 15, 1972) is a former American football player. He played as a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). A tight end is a player who can block like an offensive lineman and catch passes like a wide receiver.
Rickey Dudley was born in Henderson, Texas. He went to Ohio State University for college. There, he played football for the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a very good player in college.
Playing in the NFL
Rickey Dudley was chosen by the Oakland Raiders in the 1996 NFL Draft. He was the ninth player picked overall. This means he was one of the top players coming out of college that year.
He played for the Raiders from 1996 to 2000. During his time with the Raiders, he was known for his strong catches. He caught 33 touchdowns in his career. He also had 221 receptions for 3,024 receiving yards.
