Riley Brown: Rugby League Player

Early Life and Beginnings

Riley Brown was born in Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia. He grew up in a town called Singleton, New South Wales. When he was 17 years old, he started playing for the first team of the Singleton Greyhounds. This was an early step in his rugby league journey.

Playing in the NRL

Riley Brown made his big debut in the National Rugby League (NRL) on 4 April 2004. His first game was for the Newcastle Knights against the St George Illawarra Dragons. This was an exciting start to his professional career.

Time with the Newcastle Knights

After his debut, Riley played seven games for the Newcastle Knights in his second season. The team finished last on the ladder that year. He played a total of 40 games for the Knights. In 2007, he was told to look for a new team.

Moving to the Sydney Roosters

Riley then joined the Sydney Roosters for the 2008 season. In one of his first games for the Roosters, he was involved in an incident where he injured an opposing player. However, he was not charged for this. Later that year, Riley broke his arm during a game against the Brisbane Broncos. This injury kept him out of play for a long time. He returned to the field in 2009, playing six games. The Roosters also finished last in the competition that year.

Joining the Gold Coast Titans

In 2010, Riley Brown moved to the Gold Coast Titans. He played his last first-grade game in May 2011. The Gold Coast Titans also finished last in the NRL that year. This meant Riley had been part of three teams that finished last during his career.

After the NRL

After leaving the NRL at the end of 2011, Riley Brown continued to play rugby league. He played for several local teams. These teams included the Cessnock Goannas, South Newcastle, and Central Newcastle.
