Rinconada is a city and a special type of local government area called a commune in central Chile. It is located in the Los Andes Province, which is part of the Valparaíso Region. This area was officially created on January 18, 1897.
Rinconada is very important to many people because it is home to the shrine of Saint Teresa of Los Andes. This makes it a spiritual center for Chile, attracting many visitors. Near the shrine, there is a Monastery of the Holy Spirit, where a community of nuns lives.
