His Athletics Journey
Rio Mitcham started showing his talent early. In June 2021, he won a silver medal. This was at the England Athletics Under 23 Championship. He competed in the 400 metres race.
In July 2022, Rio competed at the British Championships. He ran his fastest time ever to qualify for the final. In the final race, he won a bronze medal. He set an even better personal best time of 46.22 seconds.
European Championship Gold
Rio was part of the British relay team in 2022. They competed in the men's 4x400 metres relay. This event was at the 2022 European Athletics Championships in Munich. His team performed amazingly well. They won the gold medal, making their country proud.
World Championship Success
In August 2023, Rio was chosen for the 2023 World Athletics Championships. This big event took place in Budapest. He competed in the mixed 4x400 metres relay race.
His team won a silver medal at these championships. They also set a new national record. Their time was 3 minutes and 11.06 seconds. This was a fantastic achievement for the British team.
Rio was also part of the men's 4x400 metres relay team. They earned a bronze medal at the same championships.
Future Competitions
