Rio Vista Village is a special part of Phoenix, Arizona. Its name means "river view" in Spanish. It is one of fifteen "urban villages" that make up the city of Phoenix.
Rio Vista is mostly made up of undeveloped land. This means much of the area is still open desert or empty spaces. It is located in the northern part of Phoenix.

An urban village is a specific area within a large city like Phoenix. These villages help organize the city into smaller, more manageable parts. Each village has its own planning committee. This committee helps decide how the area will grow and develop.
Where is Rio Vista Located?
Rio Vista Village is in the northern part of Phoenix. It is close to Anthem, which is another community.
Rio Vista's Borders
Rio Vista has clear boundaries:
- To the north, it is bordered by Table Mesa Road.
- To the east, you'll find Interstate 17.
- The southern border is a bit wiggly, following Desert Hills Drive, Pyramid Peak Parkway, and Carefree Highway.
- To the west, it is bordered by New River Road and 75th Avenue.
What's in Rio Vista?
Even though much of Rio Vista is undeveloped, there are some important areas already built. These include:
- The Anthem Commerce Park, which has businesses and offices.
- The Anthem Outlets, a popular shopping center.
- The Anthem West community, which has many homes for families.
Much of the undeveloped land in Rio Vista is owned by the Arizona State Land Department. This department manages land that belongs to the state of Arizona.
