Risley Hall is a beautiful old country house in Derbyshire, England. It's now a hotel and spa, set in 17 acres (about 69,000 square meters) of lovely gardens. You can find it near the village of Risley, not far from the M1 motorway.
The hall has 35 bedrooms and many rooms for events. It's a popular place for hotel stays and used to have a spa. It's also a special spot for weddings. These events often happen in the Great Hall, which was built in the 1500s. It has cool open-beamed ceilings and special windows. The spa closed in 2016 and has not reopened yet.

History of Risley Hall
The story of Risley Hall goes way back to the 11th century.
The Willoughby Family
The Willoughby family became the owners of Risley in 1350. They were the main builders of Risley Hall, which was mostly finished in the 1500s. During that time, the Willoughbys also built the Church of All Saints in Risley. They even started a free school in the village for local children.
Later, the estate was passed to Anchitell Grey through marriage. But after his daughter passed away, it returned to the Willoughby family.
Old Discoveries
In the early 1700s, a building called the Latin House was built. Something very interesting was found in the grounds of Risley in 1729. It was a Roman-British silver plate called the Risley Park Lanx. This is a very old and valuable item from Roman times in Britain.
For a while, people thought a rediscovered plate was the original. It was even shown at the British Museum. However, it turned out to be a copy and was quickly removed.
Victorian Times and Beyond
In the Victorian era, Risley Hall became very successful. This was when a lively businessman named Ernest Terah Hooley owned it.
Today, Risley Hall is owned by the Crosbie family. It has been managed by different hotel groups over the years, including Oxford Hotels and Inns and Bespoke Hotels.
