This village is located about 4.3 kilometers (2.7 miles) away from Route 3. It is also about 9 kilometers (5.6 miles) northwest of José Enrique Rodó. Risso is 29 kilometers (18 miles) southeast of Palmitas.
History of Risso
On May 13, 1971, Risso was officially recognized as a "Pueblo." This means its status as a populated center was changed to a village by a special law called Ley Nº 13.959.
