Risto Mejide Roldán (born on November 29, 1974, in Barcelona, Spain) is a famous Spanish publicist, author, and TV personality. He is well-known for being a judge on popular TV talent shows. He has appeared on shows like Operación Triunfo, Got Talent España, and Factor X. Risto Mejide also hosts his own television programs.

His Name and Education
Risto Mejide was born as Ricardo Mejide Roldán. Some people thought his real name was "Evaristo," but he has clarified that his name is "Risto." When he was 18, he officially changed his name to the Finnish version, "Risto."
He studied at the ESADE Business School and earned a Bachelor's degree and an MBA. He also taught classes there for a while.
His Family Life
On May 20, 2017, Risto Mejide married Laura Escanes, who is a model and social media star. They appeared together on an episode of the TV show Planeta Calleja. They have a daughter named Roma.

Becoming a TV Judge
Risto Mejide first became famous as a judge on the TV show Operación Triunfo during its fifth season. He was known for his very direct and honest comments, which sometimes surprised the contestants. People often compared his judging style to that of Simon Cowell.
He later joined the judging panels of other popular talent shows. These include Tú sí que vales, Got Talent España (starting from its second season), Factor X, and Top Star. ¿Cuánto vale tu voz?. All these shows were broadcast on the Telecinco channel.
Writing and Music
In 2008, Risto Mejide published his first book, called El Pensamiento Negativo (which means "The Negative Thinking"). A year later, in 2009, he also started working in the music industry. He became a songwriter and a music producer, working with a music group called Labuat.

Besides being a judge, Risto Mejide has hosted several of his own TV shows.
- In 2009, he started his show G-20 on Telecinco, but it was canceled soon after because not many people watched it.
- From 2014, he hosted three seasons of a talk show called Viajando con Chester on the Cuatro channel.
- In 2015, he hosted two seasons of another talk show, Al rincón de pensar, on Antena 3.
- In 2016, he returned to Mediaset España and hosted Chester in Love on Cuatro.
- In 2017, he hosted a dating show called All You Need Is Love... O No on Telecinco.
- Since 2019, Risto Mejide has been hosting the current affairs talk show Todo es mentira on Cuatro.
