River Rose and her dog, Joplin, fall asleep. Then, they are whisked away on a magical journey. This time, their adventure takes them all the way to the North Pole. River Rose wants to tell Santa what she truly wishes for Christmas.
How the Book Was Made
The Idea Behind the Story
The Magical Christmas book was inspired by Kelly Clarkson's own daughter. Her daughter absolutely loves the holiday season. Kelly Clarkson said her daughter was at a "fun age" for Christmas. She explained that kids get very excited about it. Kelly thought it would be a great book for her daughter to read.
A year after her first book came out, Kelly felt it was time for a new one. She decided to make the next book about Christmas. On June 28, 2017, HarperCollins announced the book's release. It came out on October 24, 2017.
A Song for the Book
For this book, Kelly Clarkson wrote a special song. It's called "Christmas Eve". This was different from her first book. She had thought about including it on her Christmas album, Wrapped in Red (2013). The song's words are different from the book's story. The song is told from the point of view of elves. It describes how they get ready for Christmas.
