The River Sherford is a cool river in Dorset, England. It's also often called the Sherford River. This river is one of four main rivers that flow into Poole Harbour, a big natural harbor. The River Sherford is about 12 kilometers (around 7.5 miles) long. It flows over older layers of ground near the harbor.
Where the River Sherford Flows
The River Sherford starts from a natural spring in a small village called Whitefield. This village is west of Lytchett Matravers. From its start, the river flows south into Morden Park lake. After the lake, it turns and flows east. It goes under the A351 road before finally reaching Lytchett Bay. When it reaches the bay, it's known as the Rock Lea River. Lytchett Bay is on the northern side of Poole Harbour.
