River Taw facts for kids
The River Taw is an important river in North Devon, England. It starts high up on Dartmoor at a place called Taw Head. This is where a spring begins its journey.
The river then flows across North Devon. It passes near the town of Barnstaple, which used to be a very busy port. Finally, the River Taw flows into Bideford Bay. This bay is part of the Bristol Channel.
The River Taw has a wide estuary (where the river meets the sea). It has many wide bends, called meanders. The estuary of the River Torridge also joins the Taw's estuary.
